Why Choose Tanzania?
Our journey began with a simple visit to schools in Tanzania, where the need for basic educational resources was overwhelming. We chose to start our work here because with just a little support, we could transform education for hundreds of students. Our partnerships in and around Arusha and the surrounding tribal areas ensure we are addressing the most urgent needs of the children we serve.
Providing Desks for Students
We have connected with a trusted company in Tanzania that will build durable school desks. Each desk costs just $40 and can seat up to three children, giving them a proper place to learn instead of balancing notebooks on their knees. This project also keeps funds within the local community, supporting jobs and economic growth.
Teacher Support
It costs less than $1,000 to fund a teacher's salary for a whole year. This support helps schools retain dedicated teachers, ensuring hundreds of lives can be impacted by a single contribution.
School Gardens
Our future initiatives include providing seeds and tools to create school gardens. This helps children learn agriculture while providing fresh ingredients for the school kitchens to serve nutritious meals to the children.

Our Progress So Far
Rafiki ya Education is at the beginning of its journey towards bringing about a change, but we’ve already laid the groundwork to ensure every dollar you contribute creates a lasting change. We’ve established local partnerships with desk builders in Tanzania. With the guidance of our Tanzanian board member, we have established relationships with schools in and around Arusha and the surrounding tribal areas to address the most urgent needs of the children we serve.
